The first and second floor of this home was redesigned to create a fluid floor plan, grand kitchen and living spaces, and master suite for growing in place. To achieve this, the small and isolated galley kitchen, dining room and living room were expanded and reconfigured to improve flow, functionality, storage, seating and prep space. The two-step raised living room was leveled by lowering the 10-foot basement ceiling and moving the living room floor 16 inches lower. The addition of an elevator from the finished basement to the second floor provides strategic access to the kitchen, master bedroom, and exercise room.
