In this classic 1928 home, the clients wanted to create a unified and cohesive space where the family could gather daily, accommodate large gatherings and have plenty of storage. Removing a load bearing wall that divided the original floor plan helped create a timeless, open floor plan. The new space  includes a ten-foot island, a floor-to-ceiling pantry, Wolf/Subzero appliances, a new mudroom, a television viewing space and an expanded powder room. Classic and contemporary finishes, including mixed metals, black windows and doors, a dark island, and soft grey cabinets and walls, were used in this now functional space for this family of six.
