This basement was like a time capsule; the walls were lined with 1960s era wood paneling, red shag carpet covered the stairs, vintage lighting hung from the ceiling, and 40 years of memories filled boxes. Warm wood tones, including reclaimed ceiling beams, plank flooring and wainscoting were used to achieve the Scottish pub-like atmosphere. Natural stone was added to the existing fireplace. Layers of light, including wall sconces, recessed cans and Tiffany style pendants, provide multiple lighting configurations to meet the many uses of the space. After 40 years of waiting, the homeowners were delighted with the end result.
