These clients wanted to connect their kitchen to the outdoors via a sheltered area that blocks bugs and rain but not the view of the lake below. The design actually makes the lake appear closer and integrates the indoor and outdoor areas. It even expands cool weather use with strategically placed heaters and a large fire table. The project features an operable pergola with motorized screen walls and architectural columns over a bluestone patio. The rope lighting, wall sconces and fire feature produce a pleasant after dark ambiance. Replacing the wood deck with an elevated patio and landscaped beds enhances enjoyment of the garden from inside the home.
