The owners wanted to remove the small existing portico and create a large front porch that extended across the face of their home. To achieve this, the existing portico, siding, shingles, gutters, facia, downspouts and shutters were removed. An 8-foot by 28-foot front porch with a gabled roof was built in its place. The existing roof above the breezeway was modified to accommodate the new porch roof. Fixing the significant water damage under the existing wood siding around the windows, garage door, and soffits was the greatest challenge. The home’s exterior now features platinum gray colored vinyl siding, white trim and black shutters. The stately arched entry, metal columns and new front door complete the exterior’s transformation.
