2021 Regional CotY Award Winner, Residential Detached Structure

A detached structure to serve as potting shed and garage was desired by a couple who live in a 1950s Frank Lloyd Wright inspired home. Their garage was cluttered with multi-functions, over-taxed storage, and no room for a car. A mid-century modern aesthetic paired with strict budgeting guidelines drove design decisions towards an architectural style. Preservation of landscape elements and addressing runoff from a neighboring property contributed to structure placement. Smart use of materials and colors derived from the client’s home contributed to a delightful structure that fits both the landscape and the home it now complements.
