This Victorian home, originally built in 1898, had a variety of poor renovations and was unmaintained for a few years. The local preservation board had strict rules and regulations about retaining the character of the home. The owners’ wishlist included a renovated kitchen with wet bar and pantry designed for entertaining; a remodeled powder room; a larger family room open to outdoor living; and a master suite getaway. A challenge to this project was structural and code compliance. Attention to matching historic details was combined with modern amenities. This home now beautifully displays Victorian architecture and successfully blends old and new seamlessly.
