Tired of their dated kitchen, the owners of this two-story colonial in suburban Maryland were ready for a contemporary update with minimalist appeal. In addition to clean lines and low-maintenance materials, the couple longed for more pantry space, better organization and performance appliances. Monochromatic cabinetry in matte white lacquer set the new tone: sleek and smooth. Not even handles interrupt the flow, as cabinet channels and push-to-open hardware uphold the minimalist look. Soft gray sintered stone on the island’s slim counter and sink wall backsplash, and gray luxury vinyl floor complement the kitchen’s stainless accents and complete the understated palette.
