The homeowner never used their dated fireplace but secretly loved the lava rock wall. Building on their appreciation of eclectic details, a blackened steel cage with mirrorpane glass was designed over the lava wall to reflect light. The lava rock was painted in glitter gold and built-in backlit LEDs were added to enhance the gold luster. Centered within the steel framing is a TV, which can be hidden when the mirrorpane doors are closed.
