The kitchen was located directly off the garage, making access to the area challenging and inefficient. Many desired design elements were missing as well, including a large center seated island, additional countertop space, hidden storage and efficient appliance locations. The unused larger dining room space was converted into the new kitchen area, which improved work flow, created an efficient work triangle and established open spaces. Relocating appliances allowed for long open countertops, while adding a pantry created an abundance of hidden storage. Transitional inspired design elements include custom cabinetry, travertine novano countertops, a handcrafted mosaic tile blue backsplash and decorative pendant lighting.
